SUCRECUBE/TUMIQUI to Exhibit at the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9) Japan Fair

Our 7-Year Journey in Senegal and a Vision for Global Business, Born in Africa

TUMIQUI is pleased to announce our participation in the Japan Fair, an official side event of the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), to be held at Pacifico Yokohama from Wednesday, August 20, to Friday, August 22, 2025.

For seven years since establishing our base in Senegal in 2017, we have been tackling the challenges of regions with limited access to electricity and telecommunications. Centered on solar power and ICT, we have worked hand-in-hand with local team members to solve social issues and foster industrial creation in the fields of healthcare, education, and agriculture.

The light that now illuminates small clinics, the digital environments supporting children’s education, and the supply chain transforming harvested produce into valuable products—these steady, on-the-ground achievements are now forming the foundation of a business poised to expand from Africa to the world.

At TICAD 9, we will present our concrete results to date and introduce the three key business areas through which we will forge the future with our co-creation partners.

Our Three Business Areas

Our business is built on three pillars that support people’s livelihoods, unlock regional potential, and connect to the world.

1. TUMIQUI Smart | Delivering Reliable Power to Healthcare and Education Our portable solar power units supply stable electricity to the places where it is needed most. This is the origin of our business, enhancing the quality of healthcare and expanding educational opportunities.

  • Transforming Education: Implemented in 20 elementary schools to establish digital learning environments. As a result, graduation exam pass rates soared from 31% to 77%.
  • Contributing to Healthcare: Electrified 10 clinics, supporting safe medical services such as emergency nighttime births and proper refrigeration of vaccines.
  • Earning International Trust: In 2024, its reliability and mobility were recognized, leading to its official adoption by the UN’s IOM (International Organization for Migration) for its border management posts in The Gambia.

2. TUMIQUI Module | Building the Future with Next-Generation Industrial Infrastructure This modular container combines solar power, refrigeration, telecommunications, and a KIOSK (small shop) function. We propose a new form of infrastructure that transforms scattered rural villages into hubs of value creation.

  • Bridging the Information Gap: In 2022, we installed Senegal’s first fully off-grid data center, which now serves as a regional information hub.
  • Tackling Food Security: Starting in 2025, we will launch a pilot project for a solar-powered refrigerated warehouse in partnership with four major Japanese corporations, addressing the long-standing issue of post-harvest food loss.
  • Building an Industrial Foundation: Full-scale sales (B2G, B2B) are scheduled to begin in FY2026, aiming to innovate agricultural collection and distribution.

3. TUMIQUI Délice | Processing Africa’s Bounty and Delivering its Value to the World We process high-quality mangoes, nurtured by the Senegalese sun, into purée, creating local employment in the process. This is our challenge to deliver the value of rich local produce to people worldwide.

  • Value Creation through Co-creation: In collaboration with “Okipota” from Okinawa, we have developed sweets that maximize the appeal of Senegalese mangoes. This cross-border partnership has created new value.
  • Expanding to Global Markets: We have begun sample exports to Japan and France, with a full-scale product launch planned for FY2026.
  • A Special Experience at TICAD 9: At our booth, you can sample these jointly developed sweets. We invite you to experience the limitless potential of Africa’s bounty.

The Future is Not Something to Wait For, But Something We Create Together

We envision our booth as a hub for co-creation and exchange, a place to experience the “now” of Africa and discuss the future to come. Three of our Senegalese team members will be there to welcome you with a smile and delicious mango sweets. Please stop by to experience the closeness between Japan and Senegal.

We sincerely hope that our encounters at TICAD 9 will mark the beginning of new co-creation partnerships with international organizations, governments, companies, and investors.

We look forward to seeing you at the venue.
